From utility room to showpiece, this Hampton-inspired laundry renovation is a whole lot of WOW!
No longer a room to be hidden from prying eyes, this stylish laundry renovation is exactly what the customer ordered. Even Lola the dog was considered in the design upgrade.
This original laundry room was built with the bare essentials in mind. From the Clarke metal washtub to the top-loading washing machine with exposed taps above and the old Royal Doulton toilet suite taking pride of place, it was a step back in time to where the laundry was more utilitarian than show-piece.
It was out with the old and in with the new when it came to the design of this laundry in Seaforth on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The old washing machine was replaced with a new front loader so a user-friendly workbench could be added atop.
Overhead cabinets were added along with floating shelves to utilise the awkward space beneath the stairs.
To create a seamless design, the new plumbing services were ‘chased’ (hidden) in the wall, hiding them from view forever.
