The heart of any great kitchen is often the appliances and this Freshwater renovation doesn’t disappoint. With a sleek, Fisher & Paykel 90cm French door fridge, a Liebherr wine storage cabinet for 80 bottles, and a combination Asko cooktop featuring both gas and induction options, this kitchen is perfectly equipped for any occasion.
The Smeg 90cm oven, undermount rangehood, and integrated dishwasher bring a harmonious blend of function and form to the kitchen.
Sintered benchtops, the new standard in engineered stone.
As laws evolve in Australia around engineered stone, the owner chose the latest in Sintered Stone, the Smartstone Calacatta Bianco, for the benchtops and splashbacks.
Crafted with zero silica and incorporating 85% recycled materials, Sintered Stone comes in an extensive range of exquisite colours and designs.
This durable, elegant material offers the timeless appeal of natural stone with the resilience to withstand daily use. The surfaces are built to resist heat and UV exposure, making them perfect for kitchens and laundries.
Expanding the space to create an open-plan flow.
The kitchen design and renovation began with the removal of an adjoining wall, opening up the space to create a larger, open-plan kitchen and making room for an island bench.
There is now abundant storage options, including a generous walk-in pantry, while accommodating state-of-the-art appliances that are perfect for both everyday living and entertaining.
A timeless colour scheme that balances light and dark.
In consultation with the client, we curated a timeless colour scheme that features dark and light timber tones with neutral accents, creating a visually striking yet balanced environment.
The cabinetry showcases Polytec’s Ravine Range, combining Sepia Oak and Bleached Walnut shark nose finger-pull fronts. This combination provides a unique contrast, enhancing the kitchen’s character while staying true to the modern aesthetic.
To elevate and complement this colour palette, the Smartstone Calacatta Bianco benchtops and splashbacks, with their elegant veining, add both visual appeal and a sense of prestige to the space.
The cohesive design extends beyond the kitchen, with neutral porcelain floor tiles used in the walk-in pantry and laundry, and the Polytec timber products, tying the spaces together.

To create a unified flow throughout the home, we mirrored the same premium materials and finishes in the laundry renovation.
The same 20mm Smartstone New Sintered Classic Range in Calacatta Bianco was used for the benchtop and splashback. Not only will this be durable enough to handle the daily demands of the utilitarian room, but it adds a touch of prestige to the space.
This laundry is now more than just a utility room that needs to be hidden from public view, it’s a beautifully designed showpiece of style and sophistication.
