A spacious and elegant new kitchen that’s the heart of this Bayview home.

The owners of this Bayview home, near Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, had a clear vision for their new kitchen design – spacious, elegant, and inviting. The finished result was a warm, Hampton-inspired sanctuary that captured the essence of the surrounding bush and Pittwater location. It truly is the beating heart of this home.

Now semi-retired and with more time to entertain, the owners wanted the kitchen renovation to be both functional, practical, easy and, importantly, inviting. Forming part of the large open plan living and dining area, the new kitchen had to merge cohesively with the adjoining spaces. To open up the area even further, we removed internal walls and added supporting beams to the ceiling.

Surrounded by the Australian bush and the sparkling waters of Pittwater, a natural colour palette was an obvious choice. Gold hardware and polished brass accents added elegant touches that complimented the rich colour of the cabinetry. Coupled with a Hampton-inspired aesthetic, the kitchen was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. Spacious, elegant, and inviting – just like the clients wanted.

The focal point of the kitchen was the large island bench. The dramatic YDL stone benchtops and splashback, highlighted by strip lighting, were complimented by the Porter contours timber paneling in American oak. Not only did this add depth and texture to the space, but provided ample space for relaxed family gatherings and casual dining.

The large, double oven and French door fridge catered to the culinary needs and entertaining aspirations of the hosts.

The finished result was a new kitchen that not only met the client’s expectations but exceeded them.

By combining their personal preferences with the unique characteristics of the Northern Beaches location, we were able to create a space that is as functional as it is beautiful—a true reflection of a coastal lifestyle nestled among the Australian bush.
